Supporting Student Achievement with Study Island
Description: Study Island is an online assessment tool that allows teachers to evaluate students in the subject areas of Math and ELA for grades 6 & 7. In addition grade 8 includes assessments in Social Studies and Science. Educators will learn how to use Study Island to differentiate instruction in the classroom and provide an interactive assessment. Study Island provides an exciting experience that will motive students and provide solid data for classroom teachers.

Using Renzulli Learning to Differentiate Instruction and Support Students in Achieving Personal Success
Description: Participants will discover how Renzulli Learning System can be used as a powerful tool to differentiate instruction to the specific needs of the learner based on learning style, expression style, interests, and abilities. Bio: Lisa Nielsen serves as the professional development manager for educational technology at the NYC Department of Education. I have worked in New York City Schools and at Teachers College, Columbia University for more than a decade in various capacities including as a literacy and instructional technology coach, program developer, teacher, librarian, and staff developer.
